Visa Information

Letters of invitation
Upon request, the conference Secretariat will provide you an official invitation letter for attending the Conference. This may assist in getting the appropriate visa. However, such invitation does not imply any responsibility or liability for travel or other expenses.

Visa
All overseas visitors entering Thailand should hold a valid passport with at least 6 months validity. Most nationalities may spend up to 15 days in Thailand on a transit visa if they have a valid onward air ticket. Visitors with a tourist visa may normally stay for up to 60 days. Health regulations and required vaccinatons
Travelers who have been travelled from/through the countries which have been declared Yellow Fever Infected Areas must indicate and International Health Certificates verifying the recieving of a Yellow Fever vaccination. Please check the latest regulations at your local Health Office.

Airport
Suvarnabhumi International Airport is located in the Bang Phli district of Samut Prakan province, 30 kilometers east of Bangkok.

General Information:

Electricity
The electric system is 220 volt AC (50 cycles). There are various kind of plugs and sockets in use. Travelers with shavers, tape recorders and other appliances should carry a plug- adapter kit.

Currency
The currency of Thailand is in Baht, in denominations of 20, 50, 100, 500 and 1,000 Baht notes. 1, 5 and 10 Baht coins are also common (Currency Exchange Rates).
Banks are open 08.30-15.30 from Monday to Friday. Money exchange is also available at the hotel.

Credit cards
International recognized traveler's checks and all major credit cards such as American Express, Dinner Club, Visa and Master Card are accepted by hotels, most department stores and restaurants.

Climate
Thailand lies within the humid tropics and remains hot throughout the year. Temperature varies from 19°C to 38°C. Average temperatures are 29°C. There are three seasons; the cool season (November to February), the hot season (March to May) and the rainy season (June to October), though downpours rarely last more than a couple of hours.
