University of Fukui - Japan

Jingyuan Chen received her PhD degree from University of Fukui in 1996, supervised by Prof. Koichi Aoki. Since then she has set the life aiming to solving “fundamental subjects of basic electrochemistry” and defined the work focus into physics of interfacial phenomena. During her career, over the past 17 years has supervised more than 30 PhD students. 19 of them become a professor who work in university.

She born in 18 Sepetember 1957, Xiamen, China. She was working as a farmer for three years untill 1977. She earned her Engineering diploma in Chemical Engineering from Tianjin University of Science and Technology in China in 1982, then worked as an engineer for eight years in China. She earned her Engineering diploma in Biochemistry from the University of Fukui in 1993. Three years after that, in 1996, he completed his PhD thesis, entitled “Statistical thermodynamics of redox interaction at polynuclear transition-metal complexes” at Department of Applied Physics. She then spent 2.5 years as a senior researcher in Dr. Jingyuan Chen's laboratory at MAEDA KOSEN Company Limited. From 1998 to 2000, she was a full-time lecturer at Faculty of Science in Kanazawa University. In 2000-2001 she worked as a visiting scholar at Henry White's laboratory in University of Utah. In 2001 she moved to University of Fukui and worked as an associate professor and was appointed as a full professor of Applied Physics in 2017.
