Symposuim 3: Nano characterization

Keynote speakers:

  • Prof. Renaud Bachelot, UTT Troyes, France

Description: Nanomaterials can have unique properties associated with their small dimensionality. Recently functional nanomaterials are rapidly finding wider use in modern technological products in many areas, such as displays, energy conversion, energy storage and sensors. High-resolution analytical techniques are essential for both development and introduction of new nanotechnologies and thin-film technologies as well as for the integration of advanced materials into high-tech products.

This Symposium will cover recent and innovative developments in analytical techniques that can provide precise characterization of materials and devices with nanoscale and/or atomic resolution. The objective of this symposium is both to highlight the capabilities of precise techniques for the determination of the key structural and material parameters and for a better understanding of the functional properties of challenging new materials. It focuses on the development and application of microscopy, spectroscopy, and diffraction techniques. New research results in disruptive nanoanalysis techniques will be reported, and novel solutions in the field of materials characterization for process and quality control will be shown.

It will bring together scientists and engineers from universities, research institutions, equipment manufacturers, and industrial end-users. The discussions and interactions between the stakeholders will help to identify gaps in the fields of advancing nanoanalysis and materials characterization and to propose actions to close them and to support the industrial exploitation of innovative materials.
