Prof. Li Lu

National University of Singapore, Singapore

Professor Li Lu is an Emeritus Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the National University of Singapore. He received his B.Eng. and M.Eng. degrees from Tsinghua University, China, and his Ph.D. from KU Leuven, Belgium. Professor Li is internationally recognized for his pioneering contributions to materials science and engineering, with research interests spanning functional materials, ferroelectric materials, energy storage materials, nanostructured materials, and thin-film deposition. Over a distinguished academic career, he has published more than 600 peer-reviewed journal papers, which have attracted over 30,000 citations, reflecting the significant impact of his work on the development of advanced materials and energy technologies. His research has been supported by numerous competitive grants from government agencies, industry, and international collaborative programmes, and he has supervised many graduate students and postdoctoral researchers who have gone on to successful careers in academia and industry. Professor Li has received wide recognition for his outstanding research contributions and continues to play a leading role in the international materials science community. He serves as the Editor-in-Chief of Functional Materials Letters and as an Editor of Materials Technology – Advanced Functional Materials. As a plenary speaker, Professor Li brings extensive expertise and insights into the design, processing, and applications of advanced functional materials for next-generation energy and engineering applications.
